 Dirty Weekends are open to all comers. The terrain covered varies from sheep paths to landrover tracks and takes in a few sections of tarmac. Even in drought periods there is plenty of mud and water, and you can be sure of big climbs and big descents. Depending on weather and ground conditions, and the energy levels of the riders, we ride for approximately 5-6 hours including a lunch stop.
All accommodation and food is provided (apart from evening meal on arrival day). Meals include breakfast, lunch, tea & cakes, evening meal. |

 This is an introduction to the fun and excitement of real mountain biking. If you are reasonably fit and comfortable on a bike, but have never riden off-road then this is for you. Or maybe your fitness level has slipped and you need to get back into it.
Essentially, you will be doing real mountain biking on real off-road terrain, but at an easy pace, and over somewhat shorter distances than our Dirty Weekends. Some advice and riding tips are given, but it is not intended to be a skills course so much as a genuine mountain biking experience.
All accommodation and food is provided (apart from evening meal on arrival day). Meals include breakfast, lunch, tea & cakes, evening meal.

 Epic Weekends are long and hard! On the first day we do a warm-up ride in the local area,and the middle day's ride is over classic routes of about 50 miles (or 8 hours of riding). The last day's ride is a fun day taking in some of the best descents around.
Fitness requirements - You need good endurance and the ability to keep up a steady pace over varied terrain for long periods. You don't necessarily need to be fast, but you do need to be able to ride different types of terrain and conditions, and you need to be able to keep going. Probably more than anything, you need determination and a taste for all-day riding.

 See 2008 in with your mountain bike. Make your bid for freedom right after the Christmas festivities have come to an end. Come and pedal your heart out in the glorious hills surrounding the Elan Valley.
Roll up on Sunday 30th in time for your evening meal. During the next couple of days you will be riding routes which are rideable even in wet conditions. On New Year's Eve itself we will be doing an off-road night ride out to a local pub. After a loosener or two we return along the Elan Valley trail back to The Cwm, where a gartantuan banquet awaits. Francine is famous for her fantastic homemade, organic meals, and evening sees the perfect end to a perfect day as we settle down to dinner. And as if that was not enough, mulled wine and minced pies are served by a roaring log fire.
Departure is on Tuesday January 1st, after a ride and lunch.

 If you have'nt been riding your bike much through the dark depths of winter, now is the time to get the bike out again. Get out into the hills with me for some real fresh air. Get those legs turning and those wheels churning. We'll take whatever the weather throws at us and enjoy it just the same, looking forward to a post-ride meal in front of the fire back at The Cwm. And if the weather is good we will enjoy a picnic stop out in the valley.

 Spring starts at Easter time. Flowers bloom, trees come into leaf, little lambs play in the fields and days are already getting longer. It's time to get away for some full day bike rides in real mountain bike country.
Arriving on Good Friday in time for an evening meal, you get three full days of biking in the Welsh countryside before returning home on Easter Monday.

 The roads of mid Wales are quiets, spectacularly scenic, and, that's right, very hilly. Come and conquer some Welsh mountains and be a King for a weekend.
The big day is the Saturday when we do a real Epic over some of the wildest hill country to be found. Expect to go relentlessly up and down for 6 hours or more. Support comes in the form of Francine with a support vehicle, bring out food and drink for roadside sustenance, and Clive on his bike as travelling mechanic and morale booster!
On Sunday we do a winding down ride on easier roads, arriving back at The Cwm mid afternoon. Recover and reflect over tea & cakes before returing to the real world. If you're up for it you have the option of staying on for the Monday and fitting in another day of riding. Bring your road bike and plenty of enthusiasm, and be a King of the Mountains.
